France triumph over Norway with a 2-1 victory.

After an entertaining first half, niether France nor Norwagian goal keepers were really tested, but, the host nation took the lead just few minutes after the half time break. Thanks to the wonderful strike from “Valerie Gauvin” who tapped in Amel Majri’s cross.

However, the host nation celebration was cut short just after eight minutes when Wendie Renard knocked Isabell Herlovsen’s low cross into her own net to settle the score line
into a 1-1.

It was a game that would have ended in disaster not until “Le Sommer”  came to the rescue and propelled France to 2-1 when she scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute of the game through a penalty spot kick awarded to them.

A great relieved for French defender  “Wendie Renard” who celebrated the winning more than the rest of the team players. The penalty which was awarded to the host nation was initially a controversial, but after a V.A.R review, the penalty was later given after a high, rough tackle by Ingrid Syrstad Engen on Marion Torrent.

The French women national team will now play their last group game against one of the African representative (Nigeria) on Monday 19th June 2019. A winning for them will propel the French women team to top the group A.
