Argentina Appoints Lionel Scaloni As it New Head Coach


Argentina FA have confirmed the contract extension of their head coach “Lionel Scaloni” on Tuesday and it will run until the end of the qualifying period for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) announced on its official website.
It was revealed that Lionel Scaloni was initially contracted as an interim coach last year August 2018, just over two weeks before “Jorge Sampaoli” was asked to leave his job following Argentina's last 16 elimination from the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Lionel Scaloni contract was initially extended until December 2019. 
But following an impressive performance at the just concluded Copa America in Brazil in which the Argentina took the third place position, he has now been offered the chance to qualify the Argentines national team for the Qatar 2022 world cup.
The 2022 world cup Qualifiers begin in March 2020 and will run until mid November 2021.
Lionel Scaloni is also expected to be the head coach of the team for the next year's Copa America which will be hosted jointly by Argentina and Colombia.
Argentina nationl team is expected to play major friendlies against fellow continental rivals Chile and Mexico in the United States in the month of September 2019 and then travel to face tackle with European giant Germany in October this year.
