Former Nigeria U-23 Captain Isaac Promise Dies.


USL Championship club "Austin Bold" have announced the tragic and untimely death of former Nigeria international Isaac Promise. 

According to the American professional football team, the 31-year-old who was a former Super Eagles captain died on Wednesday night, October 2, after a reported case of heart failure. 

He spent 12 seasons in the Turkish Super Lig, before joining American USL club side "Austin Bold" in August 2018 becoming the club's seventh signing in history. 

Promise Isaac played professional football for 14 seasons. So far he  has played for clubs like Trabzonspor, Manisaspor, Antalyaspor, Al Ahli among others. The prolific player also captained the Nigerian U- 23 team that won the silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. 

He first featured for the Super Eagles in 2009 and has earned three caps and scored one goal. 

Isaac Promise scored a total number of 77 club goals during his career before he died. 

Before his death, He was said to have gone to gym in US before he collapsed and died after heart failure.
