Media reports has it that the Italian
football giants “Juventus” have confirmed on Wednesday the extension of the
naming rights for their Turin stadium with German insurance group Allianz until
June 2030.
The
official current contract deal was signed in the year 2017 and will expire July
2023.
It
was however noted that Juventus did not receive any cash reward on that
contract, the club previously ceded the naming rights for its stadium to the
Sportfive agency in the year 2008, which has since become part of the Lagardere
Sports and Entertainment group.That agreement was worth the amount of 75 million euros ($81.5 million) over 12 years
from the inauguration of the 41,000-seater stadium in 2011.
In a recent statement released by
the club’s management on Wednesday, revealed that this new contract with Alianz
was worth "103.1 million euros ($112.14 million) to be added on top of the
existing agreements".
It was also revealed that the
contract deal will include sponsorship on the men’s training kit, and some
sponsorship rights with the women’s team.
The German insurance firm also has its
name on various sporting venues in cities such as in Munich, Minnesota and Sao
Paulo.
