UEFA ban Trabzonspor for one-year for FFP violations

Turkish club Trabzonspor have been given a one-year ban from European competitions for failing to meet Financial Fair-Play regulations, UEFA announced.
The club would miss the next European tournament they qualify for, if it is in either the 2020/21 or 2021/22 seasons.
Trabzonspor were penalised for not respecting an agreement made in 2016 which said they were to break even by 2019.
Currently they top the Turkish Super Lig on head-to-head record ahead of Istanbul Basaksehir, with the division set to resume on June 12 following the coronavirus lockdown.
The league champions in Turkey automatically qualify for the next season's Champions League group stage.
Trabzonspor are only the latest club to fall foul of UEFA's FFP rules, with English champions Manchester City having appealed against a two-year ban and AC Milan missing out on this season's Europa League.
