Victor Boniface Suspended and Fined €25,000 for Misconduct

Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has been suspended for one match and fined €25,000 by the German Football Federation (DFB) for unsporting behavior.

The punishment follows an incident during the DFL Super Cup match against VFB Stuttgart last Saturday. After the final whistle, Boniface was caught on video making an obscene gesture—showing his left middle finger—towards the Stuttgart players.

Although the referee did not witness the incident, the DFB’s disciplinary committee conducted a retrospective investigation and subsequently charged Boniface. Both the player and Bayer Leverkusen have accepted the ruling, making it legally binding.

“The DFB sports court has suspended Victor Boniface for one DFB Cup match,” the federation announced in a press release. “In addition, he has been fined €25,000.”

As a result, Boniface will be unavailable for Bayer Leverkusen's upcoming German Cup fixture.
